Handshake hits the stage at the CIVITAS Forum 2021

Author: Laura Schubert

The CIVITAS 2021 Forum, held this year in Aachen, Germany, hosted fifteen engaging sessions that touched on a range of sustainable mobility topics. From electric vehicles, to inclusivity, to urban logistics - there was something for everyone.

The Handshake project was presented during Session 3: Active and Shared Mobility. Handshake's own Viktor Goebel and Pascal van den Noort highlighted the goals and progress made by the 13 cycling cities during two different presentations. The general message shared by all contributors to the session - whether they advocated for walking, cycling or public transport - is that politicians and decision-makers must do more to prioritize non-polluting and healthy modes of transportation.
